When You Need An Insurance Lawyer In Rapid City

byadmin

Do you feel like you are in a battle with your insurance provider that is getting you nowhere? If that is the case, it might be time for you to hire an Insurance Lawyer in Rapid City. Regardless of if you are fighting because of your health, your home, your car, or travelling coverage, an insurance lawyer is going to be the right legal representation to turn to. This type of lawyer will handle everything from investigating to settling the claim.

An Insurance Lawyer Rapid City will investigate the claim you have made regarding your insurance provider not honoring their end of your contract with them. They are going to read over the policy and contract you signed to see if there is a justified reason why the provider is refusing to pay out your claim. It is a good idea to hire an attorney is because they are going to understand all of the legal jargon in the policy that might go over your head.

Once your lawyer has confirmed the insurance provider is, in fact, not honoring your policy, they are going to bring this to the provider’s attention. What usually happens is the provider ends up offering you a settlement. The unfortunate truth is that some insurance providers refuse to pay just because they know average everyday customers do not understand all of the legal terms in the policy. They know not everyone is going to go through the channels of hiring a lawyer and fighting their refusal.

It is also beneficial for you to have a lawyer because they will know what the true value of your specific claim is. This way, you can be sure you do not accept an offer from the insurance company that is much lower than what you deserve. In the event the insurance company did not want to settle or you could not agree on an amount, you would need the lawyer to represent you in court as well. The lawyer would know how the process of fighting a contract dispute works in court, which is going to make the process a lot easier for you.

In Ireland, RTÉ’s new “Rip Off Republic” TV series has attracted a record audience of 667,000 for its second show, making it one of Ireland’s top TV programs. The second show broadcast on Monday 15th August captured 50.5% of all TV viewers in Ireland.

The series which contains four shows broadcast from Dublin City University’s “Helix” centre, aims to expose over pricing and the exploitation of consumers in Ireland. Hosted by financial advisor Eddie Hobbs, the show has attracted huge media commentry, particularly as it has attracted the attention of the governments main party, Fianna Fail.

The main argument against the show has been that it generalises issues and makes exaggerated claims – for example it claimed that restaurants make a 300%+ profit on a typical bottle of wine, leading the viewer to believe that all businesses are making such a profit. This claim has since come under attack by restaurant owners nationwide. Other arguments against the show have stated that while inflation is less than 3%, wage growth is over 6% meaning people are still better off.

The third show will be broadcast on 29th August at 9.30pm on RTÉ One. It will focus on the transport sector in Ireland.

SpaceX scrubs Falcon I rocket launch

SpaceX called off the much-delayed inaugural launch of their new Falcon 1 rocket on Saturday from Kwajalein’s Omelek Island launch site. The intent was to launch the U.S. Air Force Academy’s FalconSat 2 satellite, which will monitor plasma interactions with the Earth’s upper atmosphere and magnetosphere.

The launch was delayed, then finally cancelled after an oxygen boil-off vent had accidentally been left open. The oxygen was unable to cool the helium pressurant, which then proceeded to evaporate faster than it could be replenished. A main computer issue, probably serious enough to cause a scrub on its own, was also discovered.

This long-anticipated flight was originally expected to be launched in January 2005, however a series of setbacks forced a series of delays, with the flight most recently scheduled to be in early 2006. It was intended to be launched from the Kwajalein atoll in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

The maiden voyage was originally intended to launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California with a Naval Research Laboratory satellite and a Space Services Incorporated space burial payload.

How Rhinoplasty Can Change Your Voice?}

Submitted by: Jonathan Tan

A nose job can be one of the most life-changing cosmetic surgeries as it dramatically transforms the appearance of the nose drastically. It sits among the most popular cosmetic procedures in Australia with a variety of patients coming in for their enhancements. And it is also possible that some who are fond of singing come to get a tweak or two to improve their nose. But, it seems that this pose a problem to one’s singing voice as well based on experience and validated by studies.

A nose job, or rhinoplasty, is a procedure that improves the size and shape of the nose. In this procedure, the surgeon sculpts or reshapes the bones and/or cartilage that make up the nasal framework. The extent of surgery will depend on the goal of the patient.

The technique used for a reduction may vary from an augmentation or a reshaping. Also, existing nasal profile determines the type of approach that will be used to make the necessary changes. Adding to that, the degree of risks also follows. And one of these risks includes the changes to your voice.

The Voice

How our voices are produced is dependent on several parts that all act together to create your characteristic sound. The power source for your voice are the lungs, next is the vibrator, which is our voice box, and the resonator, which includes the throat, mouth, sinuses and the mouth. Any sound that is created by the vocal cord is changed by the shape of the passageway of the resonator system producing your own voice.

When all three of the main parts work harmoniously, you are able to produce a voice for speech or singing without giving it much effort, just as we would do with breathing. Speaking, for a normal person, should come out spontaneously.

Research

According to a recent study from Iran, those who underwent nasal surgery sounded more nasal for the first five months post-operatively.

The said study was done in Mashhad Universtiy of Medical Sciences in Iran. It was composed of 22 females and five males with ages ranging from 18-45 years old. Dr. Kamran Khazaeni, a surgeon who specializes on ear, nose and throat procedures and who was also part of the study, shared their results to Reuters. He said that the outcome from 27 surgeries showed that the voices change in significant way statistically, but the actual changes were subtle.

A team of linguists and speech pathologists also detected more pronounced nasal sound in the test. Based on their observation, the study participants had a hard time pronouncing the nasal consonants, since Iran does not have any nasal vowels in their language. There was an increase in the hyponasality after rhinoplasty. This is similar to a sound of the voice when there is not enough air passing through the nasal cavity. An example would be a person with a stuffy nose. The team used patient self-assessments and a compter program that analyzes acoustic sound, which confirmed these results.

According to the researchers, the changes in the surface area of the nasal cavity may increase airflow resistance, which results to an increase in sound absorption resulting in decreased passage of the sound amplitude.

Khazaeni wrote in the February 2014 issue of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery that if a nose job or rhinoplasty has the tendency to change vocal sounds by narrowing the nasal cavity of the person, those who rely on their voice for a living should be aware of this risk. Based on the data gathered, they were able to notice that rhinoplasty can change your voice.

However, there are some surgeons who say that this does not change any voice outcome. But for those who think that rhinoplasty can potentially alter the voice, they explain that it could be due to swelling, mucus or congestion, which are expected during the healing period.

Other Cases

To spot any voice changes after a rhinoplasty, looking at Hollywood stars who have had them done can be the best evidence. However, the problem here is that a large percentage of these celebrties would like to keep their surgical procedure on the down low.

But, one beauty that has ben thrusted into the spotlight because of a nasal surgery to correct a deviated septum is Ashlee Simpson. She may not be open up about it, but based on the clinical eye from surgeons who have seen her photos say that her nose has indeed improved. But when you listen to her songs, you wouldn’t even be able to notice if any enhancement has been done.

Some who do not go for the surgery cites Barbara Streisand’s decision not to undergo rhinoplasty for fear of changing her voice. According to Dr. Michelle R. Yagoda, a surgeon and an otolaryngologist in New York, a nose job can change your voice.

A Careful Reminder

The good thing about this concern is that it can be prevented. You can’t lose your unique voice just because you want your nose to look good. There is a way to stop any problems from occurring if you just choose a good surgeon. A procedure that is done properly, by nature, will result in an increased air flow through the nose. This will even be an advantage for most singers because it enables them to create a clearer sound, and there will be minimal use for the diaphragmatic support to come up with the same sound.

At least 50 killed in clashes in Guinea

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

Witnesses and medical officials say at least 50 people have been killed in Conakry, the capital of Guinea, in clashes between security forces and opposition activists who defied a government ban on protests.

Witnesses say Guinea’s security forces opened fire on demonstrators who had gathered in a large stadium to protest against the possible presidential candidacy of Captain Moussa Dadis Camara, the country’s military leader. They also say police charged protesters with batons, used tear gas, and detained several opposition leaders.

We have counted 52 bodies and six more have just come in.

“We have counted 52 bodies and six more have just come in,” the city’s university medical centre’s doctor said.

On Sunday, Captain Camara’s government said all protests would be prohibited until national independence celebrations are held on October 2.

“All demonstrations on national territory are prohibited until the national holiday on October 2,” said Frederic Kolie, the interior minister, in a televised address on Sunday.

However, opposition activists decided to proceed with the demonstration they had planned for Monday. Some carried signs that read “No to Dadis”, and others chanted “We want true democracy.” Some of the demonstrators set furniture on fire as they marched from the outskirts of the capital into the city.

“[…] Conakry can be rightly described as a police state […] All across town, military people at checkpoints are searching people and people have been forced back into their houses,” said Al Hassan Silah, a local journalist, to the Al Jazeera news agency.

Captain Camara took power in a coup last December, following the death of Guinea’s longtime President Lansana Conte.

When he took power, Captain Camara said no one in his ruling council would run for public office. However, the council has since said its members are eligible to be candidates, and Captain Camara has suggested he may run for president in elections, which are scheduled for January 2010.

The African Union said it may impose sanctions on Guinea if Captain Camara decides to run for president. It said it was concerned about what it called a “deteriorating situation” in the country and the consequences of not returning to constitutional order.

Opponents have also accused Mr Camara and his ruling council of human rights abuses and limiting freedom of speech.

Supporters of Guinea’s military council are calling the threatened sanctions unfair.

Earthquake-damaged Fukushima nuclear power plant triggers evacuation

Earthquake-damaged Fukushima nuclear power plant triggers evacuation

Friday, March 11, 2011

Japan’s government has declared its first ever “nuclear emergency” after pressure rises in the No. 1 reactor at the Fukushima Daiichi power plant, combined with a minor radiation leak, caused a 10 km radius around the plant to be evacuated. An attempt to relieve the pressure inside the containment vessels of the plant has been delayed.

The Tokyo Electric Power Company’s 40-year old nuclear facility, 270 km NE of Tokyo, reported mechanical difficulties with its cooling system, although the automated shutdown systems worked correctly. With the core reaction shut down the plant is no longer actively generating heat, but the fuel rods continue to generate excess heat and radiation and need constant cooling.

The cooling system runs a constant flow of water to take the heat away from the submerged fuel rods, but the pumping system requires electricity to operate even after the plant is no longer producing electricity itself—generally from back-up diesel or natural gas generators.

Wikinews interviews Stephen Murphy about the upcoming by-election in the Higgins electorate of the Australian parliament

Wikinews interviews Stephen Murphy about the upcoming by-election in the Higgins electorate of the Australian parliament
No Comments »

Tuesday, December 1, 2009

With two by-elections coming up in Australia, many minor parties and independents will be looking to gain a seat in the House of Representatives. Stephen Murphy is one of the independents.

Mr Murphy is a computer programmer from the Melbourne suburb of Brunswick.

“After growing up in South-East Melbourne I studied Science at Monash with first class Honours, worked in Europe for 10 years and have recently returned to Australia. I work in finance as a computer programmer and speak five languages,” Mr Murphy said.

Wikinews reporter Patrick Gillett held an exclusive email interview with Mr Murphy, candidate for the Division of Higgins.

((WN)) Why do you want to get into parliament?

Stephen Murphy: I am standing up for what I believe is the correct course of action on the biggest issue in Australian politics in 100 years – Kevin Rudd’s flawed emissions trading scheme (ETS).

((WN)) What would the three main policies you are taking into this by-election be?

SM: I will oppose the emissions trading scheme, ensure that all government policy is based on accurate scientific evidence and return common sense to Canberra

((WN)) How would you address these policies?

SM: By asking for a Royal Commission into climate change so that the facts (such as that global warming stopped in 2001 and the emissions trading scheme will not change the climate one bit) are openly presented to the Australian people.

((WN)) Sending asylum seekers to Indonesia: good or bad?

SM: Any government policy that does not properly consider all implications (be it emissions trading, or any other issue) is a bad one.

((WN)) Is the Australian dollar’s near parity with the US dollar a sign that the Australian economy is healthy, the US economy in chaos or both?

SM: It’s a sign of both. Many countries around the world look with envy at how well (relatively) Australia is doing, to our credit! It is of concern that the American economy is in such bad shape and that their levels of debt seem unsustainable.

((WN)) How do you rate the governments economic stimulus package?

SM: The economic stimulus package was poorly targeted and poorly carried out. When we could have been building roads, dams, railways and hospitals yet instead we were paying for tattoos, PlayStations and overseas holidays.

((WN)) Should it be wound back?

SM: The question about levels of stimulus spending is a complicated one and requires expertise in economics, however one could say in general terms that all government spending should be well targeted and spent in the most efficient way.

((WN)) Is Kevin Rudd a better Prime Minister than John Howard?’

SM: Australian voters are the best judge of that and we will know in 2019 🙂

((WN)) Is the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme an effective solution to climate change? Why?

SM: Absolutely not. The CPRS will not change the climate by any amount that we can measure – it’s just a new tax that will hurt Australians and drive businesses and jobs overseas. Since 2003 there has been mountains of new scientific data which contradicts the popular theory that human carbon dioxide emissions are causing significant global warming. Recently, many of the scientists who wrote the IPCC report (on which the ETS / CPRS is based) have been reported as manipulating scientific data to create scary global warming scenarios. The science is definitely not settled

((WN)) Is there a better solution?

SM: We can very easily refocus the momentum and goodwill that has been generated on climate change and channel this energy into other worthwhile environmental projects in Australia that will make a difference.

((WN)) Why should the electorate vote for you?

SM: I will oppose the ETS and support responsible environmental policies instead of radical environmental policies that could end up costing every Australian taxpayer $4550 per year in new taxes.
