Standard Electronic Stability Control

Volkswagen announced that all its 2009 vehicles will come standard with electronic stability programme (ESP). Volkswagen is one of the only auto manufacturers to offer an electronic stability control system on their entire product line ahead of the national deadline for all vehicles to include stability control systems by 2012. VW’s ESP technology works in conjunction with anti-lock brakes and reduces loss of control and rollovers to avoid crashes. The NHTSA predicts around 10,000 lives could be potentially saved each year if auto manufacturers included stability systems as standard equipment. Priced Right

The diesel Jetta TDI sedan starts at $22,640 and the wagon starting at $24,240. Only about $2,000 over the similarly equipped model with a gasoline engine.
